Great name for a band......CDX! If your guitars turn out half that nice you're in business!

Hope you've already esatblished your support group, obtained your therapist, and have plenty of dollars set aside for the addiction you're getting yourself into. Best of luck and keep having fun.

Great start guys.

Looks like if you put the attention to detail into your guitars that you have into the workboard, you'll be doing just fine.

Nice looking shop, way to neat though
OK which one is Alan and who is the other dude?

I laughed out loud at your "plywood performance" picture. But prior to that I was thinking to myself that it's cool to finally see people in the pictures posted here. I am as guilty of this as any one and usually we show what we have done or are working on but we never show ourselves. I understand, that at least in my case, it's difficult to photograph yourself but again it's cool to see our OLF bros and sisters.

I also thought to myself that these guys are going to be fun to participate with on the OLF. Great sense of humor!!

And don't listen to our slob member who are jealous that your shop is neat and tidy.

Lastly, if I may please, dude,..... does the spindle sander have a hook-up for dust extraction. I want one but I am clueless about them. How do you like the Rigid?

Thanks!
Alan is me, the skinny one in white and Chris is the other. We work together in the "real" world and play guitar maker, (last year is was airplanes), at my house once a week. My dad is making one too but he’s not pictured.

We like to have fun. We actually faked the band saw pic because we forgot to take one while we where working.

We are taking many many pics to document the process for our little guitar building blog.

It does have a dust collector, standard shop vac size and it really makes a difference. I love it. $199 at HD.

Here one more pic for you.. Yes... the saw was off.

Hey alan, where's your blog?

Hesh... I have that Rigid sander, and I really like it. What is cool about it
is, it has a belt sander attachment and the belt oscilates just like the
spindle. The dust collection isn't very effective though.

What kind of finish do you plan to use? Could I suggest porch paint, comes in many shades of gray.

What are you using for dust collection? I have a riged shop vac, 6hp, attached to mine and I notice a huge difference when I forget to turn it on.

Alan... Of course the dust collecter on it works better than nothing. I just
meant it wasn't 100% effective. Thanks for the link!
